Denver Post - "Denver housing market second in nation for quick sales"

Great article in the Denver Post today about the real estate market in Denver.

Please click on link:

http://www.denverpost.com/business/ci_20429074/denver-housing-market-second-nation-quick-sales

Some highlights from the article:
How fast is the market moving? A new report shows that Denver is No. 2 in the nation for the shortest length of time that a home is listed before being sold — 33 days — far below the national median of 89 days.
Unsold homes on the market totaled 10,325 at the end of March, a 42 percent drop from March 2011.
Even though metro Denver homes have shown only marginal price appreciation so far this year, realty analysts say strong demand and multiple offers could soon push values higher in lower to moderate price ranges.

Budweiser Snow Sculpture Carving Week

January 24-28, 2012 Sculpting Week- Sculpting begins at 11:00 a.m.on Tuesday, January 24 with a shotgun start and sculpting ends on Saturday, January 28 at 10:00 a.m. The awards ceremony will be on Sunday, January 29, 2012 at 3:30 p.m.
January 29 - February 5, 2012 Viewing Week - (Please note that visitors are welcome at this free event anytime from January 24 to February 5- not just during viewing week.) During viewing week, the artists are done sculpting, but the sculptures are here for your viewing pleasure. Weather permitting the snow sculptures will stay up until the night of Sunday, February 5, 2012 and then they will disappear under the darkness of night- just as magically as they appeared! We say that viewing week is weather permitting because every once in a while we need to take down a sculpture that is about to fall due to warm weather. Over the past few years we have only taken down one or two sculptures due to weather so it is a pretty good bet that you will be able to see all or most of the sculptures (and without the crowds!).
